ACRYLIC STAPLE FIBER

A state of art manufacturing plant, based on latest know how and technology is proposed with a viable capacity of 16 to 20,000 TPA, to begin with.

It is estimated that  the combined  capacity of  producers in India is approx 150,000 TPA.

ASF has a variety of applications in apparel, household and industrial end uses. It is a versatile fiber which is used in production of textiles from the cotton system, wool/worsted system and the non-woven system.

Some popular end products made out of acrylic fiber, and acrylic blends are;

1. Summer wear:  T short, Sarees, Ladies dupatta, blouse etc
2. Winterwear: Sweaters and cardigans, blankets, shawls, socks, mufflers etc
3. Household Carpets,  curtains, Towels [in cotton-acrylic], cushion covers, Plush fabrics, soft toys, bedcovers, mink blankets , Upholstery.

Acrylic being a versatile fibre, it can be used in blends with other fibers like cotton ,wool, polyester, viscose etc  in popular blends like Cotton-acrylic,  polyester-acrylic, viscose-acrylic, wool-acrylic, silk acrylic etc etc.

In view of the emerging demand vis a vis  global competition in the quota free WTO era, the starting installed capacity proposed is 16000 to 20,000 MT/year

For a New grass root project, based on  state of art technology and entirely Imported machinery from Europe, USA or Japan the  project cost estimate for a 16000 to 20,000 TPA plant works out to Rs 250 to 270 crores under the EPCG scheme [with 5 % import duty ]  and including the margin money for the Working capital.
